TMS Entertainment Co., Ltd. announced that its new animated film, Detective Conan: The Halloween bride it will be released nationwide in Japan on April 15. The story is set in Tokyo's vibrant Shibuya district during the scariest season of the year and features a realistic reconstruction of the ward's famous cityscape, with detailed depictions of the buildings and structures as they exist today.

Co-produced by TMS, the film is the 25th installment of the Detective Conan franchise, based on the original manga by Gosho Aoyama. The Halloween bride is directed by Conan's newcomer Susumu Kitsunaka (Haikyu) from a screenplay by the faithful franchise Takahiro Okura (series writer from The Crimson Love Letter). Composer Yugo Kanno (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Psycho-Pass Films) joins the crew, having worked on numerous blockbusters and hit series through animation and live action. The theme song for the film is performed by the alternative rock group Bump of Chicken

History:

A wedding ceremony is taking place in Shibuya's “Hikarie” skyscraper. The bride, Sato, a detective from the Metropolitan Police Department, wears a wedding dress. While Conan and the other guests are watching, a group of thugs suddenly invade the venue and attack. Detective Takagi puts himself in danger and risks his life to protect Sato.

Although the situation is resolved and Detective Takagi is safe, Sato is reminded of the incident on the series of attacks three years ago; those who killed Detective Matsuda, his first love.

At the same time, the criminal behind the bombing three years ago has escaped from prison. Is this a coincidence? Rei Furuya (Toru Amuro) of the Public Security Bureau hunts down the person who killed her colleague, Detective Matsuda. However, another person in a mysterious costume appeared and attacked him with a collar bomb.

Conan visits an underground shelter where Amuro is hiding to safely remove the collar bomb. Amuro tells Conan about the incident three years ago: the encounters with an unidentified bomber in costume "Plamya" in Shibuya with his fellow members of the Police Academy. Eventually, a disturbing shadow is cast on Conan and others who are proceeding with the investigation ...

The voice cast features familiar voices, such as Minami Takayama as the lead character, Conan Edogawa; Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mori; Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro Mori; Toru Furuya as Toru Amuro; and Police Academy characters, including Nobutoshi Kanna as Jinpei Matsuda, Shinichiro Miki as Kenji Hagiwara, Hiroki Touki as Wataru Date and Hikaru Midorikawa as Hiromitsu Morofushi.

Detective Conan (Case Closed) was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) in 1994. Since then, the 94 published volumes of the manga have sold over 230 million copies, one of the best-selling crime and detective comics in Japan. with great international popularity.
