Animation Festival presents “Night of Cartoon Voices” on December 9th

The Los Angeles Animation Festival (December 9-10) has announced a special event, Night of Cartoon Voices as part of its LAAF 2023 schedule at Hollywood's Jaxx Theater (1089 N. Oxford Avenue).

The event on Saturday evening, December 9th, will be a unique opportunity to see in action renowned voice actors such as Eric Bauza, known for the contemporary voices of characters such as Bugs, Daffy, Porky and Wile E. Coyote from Looney Tunes and The Teenage Girls Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Cheryl Chase, the longtime voice of Angelica on Rugrats; and, in a rare personal appearance, Tracy Grandstaff, the memorable voice of Daria.

Plus, there will be a special appearance by director/animator Max Winston of Rat Bat Studios, featuring his recent stop-motion short Daffy in the Wacky Country, and TikTok sensation Jeremy Olenski, who is collaborating with Cheryl Chase on a new series of podcasts.

The actors will perform a series of live skits, including scenes from famous films. The panel will be hosted by John Andrews, LAAF co-founder and lead producer, and supporting actor in Beavis & Butt-Head in its original MTV broadcast.

THE LAAF The weekend will also include two full days of screenings of the films selected in competition, with highlights including the Los Angeles premiere of Bill Plympton's latest cult feature The Slide and a Colombian-Brazilian adult sci-fi film The Altra Forma by director Diego Felipe Guzman and an awards ceremony on Sunday evening. There will be live music and red carpet photo ops for filmmakers and friends. The Jaxx Theater has a lobby lounge with refreshments for a fee. Both evenings will conclude with a party for participants made possible by a donation from the Titmouse, Inc. animation studio.
