The Aztec inspired trailer for "Onyx Equinox"
Ahead of the Virtual Crunchyroll Expo this weekend, the preview of Onyx equinox . The series will be dubbed in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and German.
To celebrate this announcement, Crunchyroll also premiered a brand new trailer to introduce the main characters, while revealing the English-language voice cast, which includes a mix of Latinx and emerging talent.
The main cast are:
- Izel: The reluctant hero of humanity. In charge of closing the five gates of hell. Voiced by Olivia Brown.
- Nellie: Izel's sister is the biggest source of motivation. Voiced by the creator of the series Sophia Alexander.
- yaotl: The jaguar-like emissary of Tezcatlipoca accompanying Izel. Voiced by Alejandro Vargas-Lugo.
- Zyanya: A warrior with a powerful ability, she tries to restore her destroyed city. Voiced by Caroline Ravassa.
- And a: K'in's twin is more individualistic. The emotional core of Izel's group. Voiced by Patrick Pedraza.
- K'in: Yun's mischievous and risky twin who often takes jokes too far. Voiced by Juan Arturo Maldonado.
- xanastaku: A priestess at Izel's party. He wants to redeem his dark past. Voiced by Kimberly Woods.
- K'i'ik, Izel's weapon that grows by consuming blood e And me, a type of axolotl with mysterious magical power, are both voiced by Sophia Alexander.
It also features the vocal cast Arin Hanson like Tezcatlipoca, Castulo guerra like Mictlantecuhtli, Zeus Mendoza such as Quetzalcoatl, and Fayna sanchez like The Healer.
Onyx equinox follows a young Aztec boy named Izel who is saved from death by the gods and is chosen to act as "champion of humanity". Forced to discard his apathy towards his fellow men and demonstrate the potential of humanity, he will face a journey that will take him through ancient Mesoamerica. One of the many Crunchyroll Original series launched this year, the series was created by executive producer and showrunner Sofia Alexander.
