Critics Choice Super Awards will award the best films by genre

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) today announced nominees for the grand opening of the Critics Choice Super Awards, a special event honoring the most popular and fan-favorite genres both on television and in movies, including Super Heroes, Sci-Fi / Fantasy, Horror, Action and Animation. Winners will be revealed in a special televised presentation, which will be produced remotely following COVID security protocols, hosted by writer / director / podcaster Kevin Smith and actress / writer Dani Fernandez.

The ceremony will air on US broadcaster The CW Network on Sunday 10 January 2021 and will be streamed the following day for free on The CW App and cwtv.com.

The Critics Choice Association will also present the Legacy Award to Star Trek , recognizing the cultural impact it has had over multiple decades, while continuing to attract and grow its loyal fan base with new stories and characters. THE icon of Star Trek Patrick Stewar and that of Star Trek: Discovery Sonequa Martin-Green will personally accept this special recognition, which will come when Star Trek will celebrate its 55th anniversary.
