“Hawkmaster” the Fantasy-Drama in development at Fox by Pixar Alums

Pixar veterans Mark Andrews (director of the Oscar-winning film Rebel - The Brave; head of the story for The incredibles e Ratatouille) and Andrew Gordon (animation manager for Mike in Monsters Inc., gill in Finding Nemo, Edna mode in The incredibles) joined forces with Israeli manufacturer and OR chairman Oded Turgeman (incoming summer memories) to develop a new animated fantasy-drama at Fox, dubbed Hawkmaster (Hawk Master). The network has signed a script plus a backup script contract for the project.

Hawkmaster (Hawk Master) is set in a world where knights ride giant birds of prey instead of horses. Kess, a young woman who has always dreamed of flying, meets a horseless falcon and soon finds herself caught up in the updraft of adventure and a dangerous plot to kill the queen. With the help of the outlaw knights known as the Four Winds, Kess will discover what it really means to be a knight and entrust your life to your winged companion.

Andrews will write and executive produce the series, with Gordon and Turgeman serving as executive producers. The project is a Fox Entertainment animated production created by its studio, Bento Box Entertainment (Bob's Burgers, Duncanville, The Great North).

Hawkmaster (Hawk Master) it is part of the network's "second phase" of its expanding animation strategy which will focus on more serious, adult-oriented stories. Fox recently announced it was working on an animated drama adaptation The Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien.

Andrews is represented by CAA and attorney Nancy Newhouse Porter, Gordon by attorney Molly Fenton at Cohen Gardner Law, Turgeman by Ryan Saul (The Cartel) and Craig Emanual (Paul Hastings LLC).
