Netflix dominates the first animation Emmy contests for children and families

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) presented the first annual Emmy Awards for Kids and Families, during two ceremonies held on Saturday, December 10 (Creative Arts) and Sunday, December 11 at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles. Animation was a big part of the new awards, the first standalone expansion of the Emmy Award competition since 1979.

Netflix Animation has really thrown its creative weight in this inaugural competition, winning the upper tier awards for animation such as in children's series (City of ghosts), nursery school (Ada Twist, scientist), special class (Hilda and the mountain king) and in abbreviated form (We, the people), as well as numerous craft awards for Maya and the Three e Centaur.
