AFM: "Weirdwood Manor" movie, "Shadowrail Circus" joins the swap roster

Popular app for interactive stories Weirdwood Manor was first adapted into an animated film, titled Shadowrail Circus, now in production in Canada. With casting currently underway, worldwide sales agent The Exchange is showcasing the project to buyers at the virtual American Film Market this week.

The film follows XNUMX-year-old Lettie Donough, who unknowingly unlocks her dormant magical abilities and is catapulted into the middle of the stunning Shadowrail Circus, a troupe of extraordinary artists led by a magnificent Trackdragon. Pursued by a queen pirate witch, Lettie must learn to survive in the dangerous Tracklands and discover her family's dark legacy…

Shadowrail Circus is the first film based on the award-winning Weirdwood universe, where acts of creativity give life to fantastic worlds, magnificent monsters and captivating characters. Journey between the real world and the wonderful realm of fantasy and imagination, where creativity is magic.

Luke Minaker directs Shadowrail Circus on his feature film debut. The film is produced by Paul Pattison and executive producer of Luke Carroll. The project is produced by the digital boutique Relish Studios, reactors of Weirdwood Manor, in association with the cross-platform storytelling studio Wasabi Entertainment.

Weirdwood Manor was First launched in 2015 as an interactive story app with over 1 million downloads, which Apple named the second iPad app of the year. The property has since been expanded by Macmillan Publishing as a medium-quality novel series in three books, The Weirdwood Thieves, written by Christian McKay Heidicker, winner of Newbery Honor.

The Exchange animation catalog includes that of Jim Capobianco The Inventor  (US sales) and Shadowmachine's hell and back.
