Aladdin live action

Exciting and dynamic live action adaptation of the Disney animated classic, Aladdin is the thrilling story of the charming street boy Aladdin, of the brave and independent princess Jasmine and Genius which could be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Operation UNCLE), bringing his unique action-packed, fast-paced style to the fictional port city of Agrabah, Aladdin is written by John August (Dark Shadows, Big Fish - The Stories of a Lifetime Incredible) and Ritchie from the Disney classic Aladdin. The cast of the film sees Will Smith (Ali, Men in Black) in the role of the incredible Genius; Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as the charming villain Aladdin; Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as the beautiful and independent princess Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) plays the mighty sorcerer Jafar. Navid Negahban (Legion) takes the role of Sultanworried about his daughter's future; Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live) is Dalia, Princess Jasmine's best friend and confidant; Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods) plays Prince Anders, Jasmine's beautiful and arrogant pretender; Numan Acar (The Great Wall) is Hakim, Jafar's right-hand man and captain of the palace guards.

Disney's Aladdin is produced by Dan Lin, pga, (Sherlock Holmes) and Jonathan Eirich, pga, (Death Note), while Oscar® nominee and Golden Globe® winner Marc Platt (La La Land) and Kevin De La Noy (The Dark Knight Rises) serve as executive producers. The score is composed by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (The beauty and the Beast, The little Mermaid) and includes new versions of the original songs written by Menken and Oscar®-winning lyricists Howard Ashman (The Little Shop of Horrors) and Tim Rice (The Lion King), as well as two unreleased songs by Menken himself and by Oscar® and Tony® winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen).

Shot in London studios and Jordan's stunning desert locations, the film boasts a highly talented creative team that brought the city of Agrabah to life, including director of photography Alan Stewart (The Commuter ), production designer Gemma Jackson (Game of Thrones) and costume designer Michael Wilkinson (American Hustle).

The 1992 animated film, which featured the presence of Robin Williams in the original vocal cast and featuring memorable songs such as the Oscar®-winning track "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me", grossed over 502 millions of dollars at the global box office, resulting in successful theatrical productions on Broadway and around the world, and also leading to the creation of a traveling theater company in North America.

The new Disney movie Aladdin will arrive in Italian theaters on 22 May 2019.
