Animation Block Party announces a virtual online program

The Animation Block Party has unveiled the program for its 17th annual festival which will take place from 21 to 23 August. Like many other events, the festival will broadcast animated short films and host virtual parties. The programs will be available for free to all viewers with a suggested donation to Black Lives Matter of Greater NY or City Harvest to support COVID-19.

The event kicks off on Friday August 21 with an “Opening Night Party” featuring Picture This at New York's Littlefield Virtual Stage at 21pm. EAST. The program will feature award-winning animators paired with top comic talent, telling jokes while being animated live on Zoom.

Animation Block Party 2020 Saturday streaming schedules will be available starting at 9:00 am EST on Saturday morning and will remain online until midnight on Sunday 23rd August. You can tune in to BAM.org for Vimeo Premium live digital broadcasts of short films during the Animation Block Party weekend. Among the dedicated programs is a collection of East Coast short films; a program of short films for children; an experimental collection of graphics and music videos; an independent entertainer showcase; a Saturday night party with Cartoons on Film live from Tommy Stathes in Brooklyn, as well as several collections of international short films and student projects.
