Bryger - the Japanese robotic series of 1981

Bryger (in the original Japanese Ginga Senpu Buraigā) is a robotic Japanese anime series of the mecha genre that debuted on Japanese television networks in the years 1981-1982. The series consists of 39 episodes and was made by Toei Animation in 1981. The names of the series have been translated in various ways. In Italy the series was given the name of Galaxy Cyclone Braiger, while in the United States it is called Galaxy cyclone braiger.

Bryger's story

In the year 2111, the solar system was colonized by various criminal organizations breaking loose. Team Cosmoranger J9 is assembled with Isaac Godonov, Blaster Kid, Steven Bowie and Angel Omachi battling the scourge of the underworld across the solar system. With the robot Bryger, they are a team of mercenaries, who will manage all the missions that the police will not be able to face. Meanwhile, the Earth has been divided into the four Connections of Omega, Red Dragon, Volga and Nubia, while the other celestial bodies are divided into the five Connections of Galico (Jupiter), Viking (Mars), Venus, Uranus and the Guild of Weapons. (Mercury). Through Khamen Khamen, Nubia devises a plan to rule the solar system in which Jupiter is destroyed, leading to the creation of over 30 smaller planets that could support life. 

The Bryger Robot

Bryger is primarily a flying car referred to in the series as Brai-Thunder which can activate synchronous energy to grow in size for up to twenty-four hours, carrying matter from another universe onto itself. In this way the Brai-Thunder can transform into its shuttle form, Brai-Star . If needed, the synchronized energy can be charged to maximum capacity, allowing the Brai-Star to transform into Bryger.

    • Drum Bazookas : a laser turret in the torso.
    • Brai Spear : a spear grown to Bryger's size from synchronized energy.
    • Brai-Sword : A sword grown to Bryger's size from synchronized energy. It can fire a beam of energy called Brai Sword Beam .
    • Brai-Cannon : a pair of large cannons that can be placed on Bryger's shoulders. It is strong enough to destroy large asteroids.

Bryger characters

Izaac Kodomofu: known as “Izaac the razor”, he is the leader of the J9 group

Yotaro Kid: Known as “Kid the Volley”, he is the firearms expert of the J9 group. Kid is also the pilot of the Bryger.

Steven Boy: also known as “Boy the reckless”, he is a very skilled driver with a jovial character. Boy pilots the Bryger in a car and spaceship configuration.

Angel Omachi: The only female member of the group, Omachi is a former government agent known as "Angel Face". Despite her very sexy and feminine look, she is very professional in her work.
