DreamWorks "Doug Unplugs" series video on Apple TV +
A new high-tech and highly entertaining preschool series from DreamWorks Animation is set to air on Apple TV + starting this week when Doug Unplugs will debut worldwide, with the first seven episodes available on Friday 13 November. In the preview video just released, viewers will be able to get acquainted with the robot protagonist, his human friend Emma and his dramatic actor dad!
Doug Unplugs tells the story of a young robot named Doug who feels there is more to life than facts. As other robots log in for their daily download, Doug disconnects and travels to the human world with his best friend Emma to experience its wonders firsthand. The show is based on Dan Yaccarino's popular book series Doug Unplugged.
The cast of the dubbing includes Brandon James Cienfuegos (Beautiful Boy, Grey's Anatomy) like "Doug", Kyrie McAlpin (Birdie, Star Trek: Short Treks) as "Emma", Eric Bauza (The adventures of the puss in boots, Cartoons Looney Tunes, The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as "Bob Bot", Mae Whitman (The perks of Being a Wallflower) such as "Becky Bot" e Burl Moseley (Crazy ex-girlfriend, Zoe and the prince) as Emma's father, 'Mr. Pine tree.'
Doug Unplugs is produced by Jim Nolan (Esme & Roy), Aliki Theofilopoulos (Phineas and Ferb, Hercules) and author Dan Yaccarino.
The preview episodes are:
- Episode 1 / "A Whole Bot of Fun" / "Volunteer Bot" Doug and Emma search all over Mega City to find a lost tennis ball. As the town library prepares to open, Doug and Emma think about how to help her.
- Episode 2 / "Bot on the Beach" / "Bot of the Party" Emma takes Doug to the beach to show him why people love him. Doug and Emma try to track down missing supplies for a big party.
- Episode 3 / "Vacation Bots" / "Forest Bots" When Emma's family vacation is canceled, she and Doug make a new plan. Doug and his father get lost on a hike and try to find their way home.
- Episode 4 / "A Robot's Best Friend" / "A Robot in Its Natural Habitat" Doug takes care of Emma's dog to find out why people like pets. Emma and Doug create a new home for a lost duckling.
- Episode 5 / "Buy Till You Drop" / "Adventure Robot" Emma's dad finds a way to show Emma and Doug how fun errands can be. Emma shows Doug how to use his imagination as he searches for a lost item.
- Episode 6 / "Bot on the Farm" / "Bot-Cycle Built for Two" Doug and Emma learn about agriculture while visiting Doug's grandparents. When Doug sees Emma's bike, he tries to learn how to ride it.
- Episode 7 / "Robot for dinner" / "It's the robot that counts" Doug goes out with Emma's family and learns to eat in restaurants. Doug's grandmother has a case of glitch, so he and Emma give her a ticket.
