Close your eyes and dream (Little Rosey) - the 1990 animated series
Close Your Eyes and Dream (Little Rosey in the American original) is a Canadian and American animated television series produced by Nelvana. The series premiered on ABC in 1990. It was the first attempt at an animated series, based on the children's book character Little Rosey by writer Roseanne Barr.
History
The story loosely based on the childhood of entertaining writer Roseanne Barr, this animated series aired on ABC's Saturday morning program.
The series revolved around an 8-year-old Rosey and her two best friends Tess and Buddy. The three would use their imaginations to overcome the obstacles they faced, such as the spelling of bees, family vacations, and the rules their parents imposed on them.
Recurring characters included Rosey's parents, her younger sister Nonnie and her little brother Tater, and a couple of nemesis science nerds. Each episode consisted of two 11-minute segments.
Two years later, an animated special called The Rosey and Buddy Show was produced as a prime-time special that aired on May 15, 1992, in which Rosey and Buddy invade Cartoonland to confront meddlesome executives who wanted to "change their show." . In the 1992 special, the writer Barr herself voiced the character.
