Crunchyroll and Adult Swim reveal the cast of Blade Runner: Black Lotus ahead of SDCC

Crunchyroll and Adult Swim today revealed the characters and stellar cast of the highly anticipated animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus - The new series is inspired by the award-winning and critically acclaimed film franchise. A first look at the new series will debut at the Comic-Con @ Home 2021 panel hosted online on Friday, July 23.

The characters and the English / Japanese voice cast include:

• elle, a female replicant created for a secret and unknown purpose, will be played by Jessica henwick / Arisa shida
• Giuseppe, a mysterious figure who owns a spare parts dump in Los Angeles, will be played by Will yun lee / Shinshu Fuji
• Alan Davis, a new LAPD recruit, will be played by Samira Wiley / Takako honda
• Niander Wallace Sr., founder and CEO of the Wallace Corporation, will be portrayed by Brian Cox / Takaya hashi
• Niander Wallace Jr., a brilliant scientist who works for his father, will be played by Wes bentley / Takehito Koyasu
• Marlowe, a lethal Blade Runner, will be played by Josh Duhamel / Taiten kusunoki
• Josephine Grant, the wife of the police chief, will be played by Peyton List / Yoshiko Sakakibara
• Earl Grant, police chief of the LAPD, will be played by Stefano Root / Hochu Otsuka
• Doc Badger, a black market trader, will be played by Barkhad abdi / Takayuki Kinba
• Senator Bannister, a politician with strong feelings about replicating production, will be played by gregg henry / Masan Tsukayama
• Doctor M, a brilliant doctor and professor of medicine, will be played by Henry czerny / Akio Nojima
• basketball player, a reporter in the pockets of the Wallace Corporation, will be played by Jason Spisak / Kazuki yao

During Comic-Con @ Home, fans will hear directly from the creative team and the voice actor Shinji Aramaki (co-director), Kenji Kamiyama (co-director), Joseph Chou (executive producer), Wes Gleason (vocal director), Jessica henwick (voice of Elle), e Jason DeMarco (Toonami / SVP co-creator and Adult Swim Creative Director / moderator) as they preview an exclusive first look at the new series. The panel starts at 17pm. PT / 00 pm ET Friday, July 8.

Coming this year, Adult Swim and Crunchyroll Original Blade Runner: Black Lotus will be 13 thirteen episodes directed by Aramaki and Kamiyama. The series is produced by Alcon Entertainment and the animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe as the creative producer.

Adult Swim will broadcast the English language version on the popular Toonami network anime programming block, and Crunchyroll will broadcast the series in Japanese with subtitles to its global community of over 100 million registered users and 4 million subscribers. Both will offer the series to viewers around the world outside of Asia.
