Cryptozoo the animated film Dash Shaw arrives on Blu-ray

From visionary comic writer, artist and director Dash Shaw, the award-winning independent animated film Cryptozoan, arrives on Blu-ray and On Demand from Magnolia Home Entertainment on November 16th. The version includes a photo gallery and a cryptoid GIF gallery as extra content.

Cryptozoan is a vibrant and fantastical animated film that follows cryptozoan keepers through a richly drawn hallucinated world as they struggle to capture a baku, a legendary dream-eating hybrid creature. But cryptozookeepers soon begin to wonder if they should show these rare beasts in the confines of a zoo, or if these mythical creatures should remain hidden and unknown.

With vocal talents from Lake Bell (BoJack Horseman), Michele Cera (Very bad), Zoe Kazan (The big sick man), Louisa Krause (billion), Angeliki Papoulia (Explosion), Thomas Jay Ryan (Eternal light of the pure mind), Peter Stormare (American deities) and Grace Zabriskie (Twin peaks), cryptozoan was written and directed by Shaw and Jane Samborski (13 reasons why) directed and produced the animation.

The critically acclaimed feature film received awards from Sundance (NEXT Innovator Award), Berlinale (Special Mention - Best Feature Film), Fantasia Film Festival (Best Animated Film) and Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (Special Mention - Best Feature Film) ), and was screened in competition in Annecy, Animafest Zagreb, Sitges and more.
