Ryger - Daikengo

The cartoons of the robot Daikengo (original title Uchu Majin Daikengo, or Daikengo, the cosmic demon god) were broadcast for the first time in 1981 within the various local television stations and distinguished themselves, as well as for the particularity of its protagonists, also for the very catchy theme song by Walter Rodi, Giorgio Santini and Salvatore Pinna, sung by Lino Corsetti. Daikengo's cartoon is currently being broadcast on digital terrestrial Sitcomuno on Wednesdays at 7,15 am.
The series produced by Studio NUE in collaboration with Toei Animation for TV Asahi and Toei Agency consists of just 26 episodes and is based on an idea by Sakai Akiyoshi.
Daikengo's story begins when the planet Lama is attacked by the fleets of the planet Magellan, under the command of the ruthless general Roboleon. He kills Prince Samson and definitively takes command of the planet. After occupying this strategic point for the domination of the cosmos, they decide to attack the planet Emperius. Prince Ryger, son of King Empel and Queen Elisa, takes care of his defense, who takes charge of the powerful robot Daikengo, the result of the advanced technology of the planet Emperius. To be activated, Daikengo must wait for the passage of the Guardian Star, which thanks to its energy can give life to the robot. In his mission Ryger makes use of the precious collaboration of the beautiful Cleo, daughter of the Prime Minister of the planet and of the nice robots Anike and Otoke. An additional motivation that pushes Ryger to battle is revenge, for the alleged death of his brother Samson, by the Magellans. The spaceship led by Ryger is made up of three parts: Ryger leads the front, Cleo the central one, while Anike and Otoke get the rear. In turn, each of the parts that make up the spaceship, can be transformed into various means according to the situation: the first shuttle is developed for aerial combat, thanks to its detonating missiles and powerful laser beam, the second shuttle is precious for combat. terrestrial, as well as the third shuttle that turns into a kind of tank. The spaceship in flight can reach speeds considerably higher than that of light, thanks to the hyperspace leap and fight by firing missiles and laser beams.

It reaches maximum power when, from the combination of the three parts, it transforms into the gigantic robot Daikengo, which growls and shows its teeth when a mask placed over its mouth slides. Daikengo fights with two swords, which he spins to the point of creating a powerful vortex capable of creating cosmic energy. Daikengo can fire missiles from his belly and blades from his feet. The giant robot also fights with a chain with two sticks at the ends of the "nunchaku" type and like a huge dragon it can spit powerful flames from its mouth. Daikengo will then have to face Magellan's terrible robots, which resemble monstrous dinosaurs, commanded by the android Roboleon, totally subject (and in love) to the wishes of the fascinated commander Lady Baracross. In turn, the perfidious woman receives orders directly from the Emperor of the Magellans. The Magellans are defeated by Daikengo during the first invasion attempt, therefore they promise a truce. In reality they dictate conditions: the attack on planet Emperious will cease, only if he gives him the robot Daikengo. This is obviously a sneaky plan, to conquer the planet more easily. They have not come to terms with the determination of Prince Ryger, who together with Cleo and the two robots Anike and Otoke launches a violent attack on the city of Magellan, giving a sound lesson to General Roboleon. Unfortunately, King Empel, subjugated by the evil and corrupt Prime Minister Dulles (Cleo's father), decides to hand Daikengo to his enemies. Prince Yuga, commander of the forces of the Galactic Alliance, manages to warn his brother Ryger of the impending danger. During a battle, Daikengo is attacked by the same Empel spaceships that put Roboleon to flight, on the verge of definitive defeat.

Ryger and Cleo - Daikengo

Ryger goes to the palace to get explanations from his father, but the latter being the victim of his advisor, he has a heated argument with his son. After a violent assault suffered by Emperius, Cleo notices the plans hatched by her father and despising him, she runs away from him not before having confronted the soldiers, from which she manages to free herself thanks to the help of Ryger. difficulty, a mysterious robot named Bryman arrives. This is a wanderer of space also fighting against Magellan, who on more than one occasion will come to help Ryger and his friends in a providential way. Cleo in order to remedy her father's mistakes, decides to enter Roboleon's base to eliminate him, but she is captured and held as a hostage in exchange for the robot Daikengo. Luckily there is Ryger, who also on this occasion manages to free her and escape into deep space. During their escape, they come across a spaceship driven by three boys, who escape from the planet Landon occupied by the Magellans. Ryger driving the Daikengo, accompanies young people to their planet and decides to face Magellan's missiles. With Bryman's help, Roboleon is defeated and forced to flee. Over the course of the episodes Ryger will understand that Bryman is in fact his brother Samson, who was transformed into a cyborg by Dr. Guter, a scientist from Magellan.

When events seem to precipitate, Ryger and his friends decide to launch a direct attack on the planet Magellan, defended by a thick fog that disorients Daikengo's radar. Thanks to Bryman's help they manage to locate the planet and put General Roboleon in check. To avoid being captured Lady Barakross, she blows up their base and Roboleon with it, and then escapes into the cosmos. The last enemy they face is Emperor Magellan himself, who gets the better of Daikengo. Also in this case the help of Bryman arrives providentially who kills the enemy by shooting an arrow at his eye. Ryger, Bryman, Cleo and the two robots can return to Emperius as winners, but Bryman denies that he is Samson and together with Ryger and his friends he leaves for the cosmos, entrusting the kingdom to his young brother Yuga.
