Down the tube

From Aardman Features authors of the award winning "Wallace & Gromit: the curse of the were-rabbit"and from Dreamworks Animation (Madagascar, Shrek etc ...) is coming "Giù per il tubo" ("Flushed away" in the original English), the new 3d animated film that will be shown in cinemas during the Christmas period. The story tells of the mouse Roderick St. James known as Roddy, who lives in a hamster cage in a luxurious apartment in London's Kensington. Roddy is an aristocratic and snobbish mouse, used to being served and looked after by his mistress and two hamsters, who serve as his subjects. One day when the family goes on vacation, he finds himself alone having to look after the house, but soon an episode destined to change his life will happen. Due to an explosion in the city sewers, a hideous and lousy rat, named Sid, will jump out of the kitchen sink drain. The latter is also incurable opportunist and seeing all that good of God does not believe his eyes. Despite the disgust felt, Roddy tries to use a gentle and gentle manner towards Sid, inviting him to take a nice bath in the whirlpool tub. In reality the tub is the toilet, and Roddy devised a plan to send Sid back to the sewer he came out of. Although Sid is rude and ignorant, he can very well distinguish a toilet from a whirlpool tub, so with a nice push he makes Roddy fall in his place, down the sewer pipe, where he will face a hitherto unknown world. In the London sewers you will find yourself aboard a boat, the Jammy Dodgers, led by Rita, a smart and savvy mouse. Roddy asks Rita for help to be brought back to the surface, but apparently she also has major problems, as she escapes from the pursuit of the terrible Toad and his henchmen Harpio and Bianchino. Toad is a former royal toad of the court of Prince Charles, who however replaced him with mice and had him dumped in the sewers of the city, so he hates all mice and dreams of eradicating the breed. Harpio is a rat who has elected himself the deputy head of Toad and despite trying to look bad, in reality he is a tender "mammon". Bianchino is instead a white laboratory mouse, grown out of all proportion due to the experiments, which have also altered his IQ. Toad's most dangerous ally, however, remains his cousin, the terrible French mercenary Le Ranocchiò, who kills only with his stomach full, after having a nice feast. Roddy and Rita will face a thousand adventures, in the London sewers, meeting several strange and bizarre characters and here there will be no shortage of quotes to other animated films like a goldfish similar to Nemo, looking for his father. As in the films of Wallace & Gromit, the backbone of the film's comedy will be the dialogues and jokes of the characters, as well as the paradoxical situations that will serve as a parody between the world of the aristocratic social classes and those of the gossipers. Of note are the funny singing snails, which will give the film enjoyable fragments of musicals.
