Echo Generation, a Monster Mech Mashup, launches today with Xbox Game Pass

With the excitement of Halloween soon upon us, we have another surprise to announce. echo generation is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Windows PC and with Xbox Game Pass!

Remember that mysterious spaceship that crashed in echo generation demonstration? Now you and your little sister can travel with your mates to uncover this mystery and the strange happenings of Maple Town. Explore a vast world of voxels, fight your way through scary monsters, and help your neighbors as you investigate what happened to your missing dad.

Along with loads of exploration and missions, we've created an old school inspired turn-based combat experience Mario made of paper. Collect comics to learn over 30 new attacks and master a variety of mini-games associated with each skill. Befriend animal companions, each with their own unique abilities and personalities. As your team levels up, you will encounter tougher enemies and thrilling boss fights. Dodge those attacks or you might get a good beating! Did we mention that you can play as one of nine different playable characters? Who will you choose to lead the battle for Maple Town?

Set in 1993, much of our inspiration for the game comes from pop culture and movies from that era. We watched “The Goonies” and “Goosebumps” where a group of children go on supernatural adventures to create our own take on this classic genre.

You may notice references to this through the freebies posters in the hero's bedroom, or think of "Tremors" when facing the Rainbow Worm Boss. From trips to the video store, to cassettes and treehouse hiding places, we want echo generation to reflect some of our educations living in the suburbs of Canada and capture the nostalgic spirit of growing up in a small town.

As you reveal the story of echo generation, make new friends and claim victory in battle against challenging enemies, you will be able to unlock up to 50 achievements. A good rule of thumb for objective hunters: read the dialogue, item descriptions, and take a look at the objective icons for clues.

Our first voxel game Riverbond was released in 2019. Since then, we've worked hard to evolve the Cococucumber voxel art style, building higher resolution models in larger and more complex environments. You'll explore a variety of levels such as the FST, the heart of the corporate conspiracy, and spooky graveyards with dancing skeletal cats, rendered with gorgeous colors and mood lighting. As creators, we are moved by the response from fans to our reveal announcement in the summer of 2020 and have watched many fun streams of the demo. echo generation during The Game Awards festival.
