'No Dogs or Italians Allowed' and 'Granny's Sexual Life' win the 2022 European Film Awards

Stop-motion film by director Alain Ughetto No Dogs or Italians Allowed (No dogs or Italians allowed) (France, Italy, Switzerland) and the short film by Urska Djukick and Emilie Piegard Granny's Sexual Life (Grandma's sex life) were animation's big winners at today's (December 10) European Film Awards.

Alain Ughetto's feature, which was nominated for a Cristal and took home the Jury Prize at Annecy in June, was able to beat out four other high-profile nominated titles in the Best Animated Feature category—Little Nicola: happy as can be, my romance with marriage, my neighbors neighbors e Oink.

No Dogs or Italians Allowed (No dogs or Italians allowed) tells of how Ughetto's family left their home in northern Italy to find a better life in France and the challenges and hardships they encountered in their new country. Since the five films competing in this category were all 2D animated or stop-motion projects, it certainly seems that there is less interest in CG-animated films in Europe.
