The horror manga “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” will have an anime series

VIZ Media, Shogakukan and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Japan have announced a partnership for the development and production of the anime series Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead based on the manga by creator Haro Aso ( Alice in borderland ) and Kotaro Takata ( Hallelujah Overdrive! ).

Following the series' July 2023 launch, VIZ Media will distribute the anime in North America, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand; Hulu will offer the show in the United States. Additional streaming platforms will be announced in all territories.

The manga series

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (English: Zom 100: List of the Dead, Japanese: ゾン100 ～ゾンビになるまでにしたい100のこと～ , Hepburn : Zon 100 ~ Zonbi ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto ~ , “Zom 100 things: 100 I want to do Before I Become a Zombie") is a Japanese manga series written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X since October 2018, with its chapters collected into twelve tankōbon volumes as of November 2022. The series is licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media. An anime television series adaptation by Bug Films will premiere in July 2023. A live-action film adaptation will premiere on Netflix in 2023.

The anime

In Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead , XNUMX-year-old Akira Tendo's life has lost its luster. After spending three difficult years in a soul-destroying society in Japan, his spirit is broken. He can't even muster the courage to confess his feelings about him to his beautiful colleague Saori. Then one morning, he bumps into his landlord having lunch, which happens to be another tenant! The whole city is crawling with zombies, and even though he's running for his life, Akira has never felt more alive!

Now Akira is on a mission to complete all 100 items on her bucket list before…well, kick the bucket.

The anime series Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is directed by Kazuki Kawagoe ( Komi Can't Communicate, Ikebukuro West Gate Park ), with series composition by Hiroshi Seko, character designs by Kii Tanaka, zombie designs by Junpei Fukuchi, and music by Makoto Miyazaki. BUG FILMS ( Summer Time Rendering ) deals with animation production.
