“Journey to the Land of Sweets” receives a second season renewal from Max

The Max Original animated series “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake” has been confirmed for a second season. Based on the characters from Pen Ward's Emmy-winning Cartoon Network classic “Adventure Time,” the series is set in the land of Ooo and follows alternate versions of Finn and Jake on a multiverse journey of self-discovery.

The 10-episode first season premiered on Max in August, joining Max Original “Adventure Time: Far Lands” specials.

Suzanna Makkos, EVP Original Comedy & Adult Animation for Max and Adult Swim, said: “As proud stewards of the beloved 'Adventure Time' brand, we were pleased to delve into the world through the lens of 'Fionna and Cake.' We can't wait to follow them on the next chapter of their journey!”

Showrunner and executive producer Adam Muto commented: “Knowing that the show will continue for a second season is wonderful and frankly surreal. Thank you to Pendleton Ward, the creator of 'Adventure Time,' the Max team, the talented cast and crew, and the passionate audience who made it all possible.”

The series is produced in collaboration with Cartoon Network Studios, with Fred Seibert and Sam Register also serving as executive producers.

“In the first season of 'Fionna and Cake,' our heroes find themselves in the crosshairs of a powerful new enemy, with no choice but to seek the help of former Ice King Simon Petrikov. The series also features appearances by Marshall Lee, Marceline the vampire queen, Princess Bubblegum and Finn the human. The voices of the main characters are performed by Madeleine Martin, Roz Ryan, Tom Kenny, Andrew Rannells, Donald Glover, Kayleigh Mckee and Sean Rohani.

This confirmation is great news for fans of the series, who will soon be able to enjoy new adventures within the rich and fascinating multiverse created by “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake”.
