We Sing Together (ト ラ ッ プ 一家 物語, Torappu Ikka Monogatari in the Japanese original and Trapp Family Story in the US) is a 1991 Japanese animated series from Nippon Animation consisting of 40 episodes, based on the story of the real family of Austrian singers, the Trapp family . It is part of the animated series of the World Masterpiece Theater, which adapted classic literary works to animated series for television and was broadcast in Japan by the Fuji TV network starting from January 1991 and in Italy by the Fininvest networks in 1994.
It was based on the 1949 memoir The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp, who also inspired the famous 1959 musical The Sound of Music .
Although many things have changed from the original story, unlike other adaptations such as The Sound of Music, the baby names are all correct in this version, although some have been mixed.
