LightBox Expo celebrates the visual arts with LightBox Expo Online

For this September, the character designer and illustrator Bobby Chiu (Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland) and the founder of Emerald City Comic Con Jim Demonakos are transforming LightBox Expo, their acclaimed celebration of the visual arts, into LightBox Expo Online, a unique international virtual art event, with over 300 guests and more than 200 presentations.

LightBox Expo Online will be a multifaceted experience for everyone, from aspiring artists and students, to professionals and fans, with a focus on animation, illustration and concept art. Guests on the virtual show floor include the Oscar winner Everett Downing (co-director of Love for hair), Ron Liu (production designer at Pixar Animation Studios), JAmes Gurney (creator of Dinotopia), Natalie Hall (artist on The shape of the water), loish (Internet influencer), Claire Wendling (Spectrum Grandmaster 2018), Andy Park (Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios) and hundreds of others.

The event will be held on www.lightboxexpo.com starting from From Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September.

“LightBox Expo Online will be an unforgettable way to discover all the artists and exhibitors attending the event,” said Chiu, Creative Director of LBX. “We have created an experience unlike any other out there. Virtual artist alley and show floor work on any web browser, on your phone, and is even compatible with VR headsets for a truly awesome experience. "

Using extraordinary browser-based technology, attendees will be able to navigate a 3D virtual show featuring over 300 artists from around the world. Participants are from Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Ghana, Canada, Malaysia, Israel, Mexico, Dubai, Sweden, Australia, Indonesia, Serbia, Denmark, Argentina, Philippines, France , Norway, the United States and many other countries.

“Bobby and I realized we had the opportunity to reinvent LightBox Expo, after the incredible launch last fall in Pasadena,” said Demonakos, Director of the convention. “The best part of this virtual event is that we can include artists and designers from all over the world, many of whom otherwise would not have been able to attend. At the same time, we are using the site to create a solid experience for attendees who want to learn more about the art creation process. "
