Love Live! Superstar!! The anime gets the second season

The official YouTube channel of Love Live! Sunday began streaming a video announcing that the television anime series Love Live! Superstar!! will have a second season.

The anime premiered on the NHK public broadcaster's E-tele channel on July 11 and aired for 12 episodes. Funimation streamed the series as it aired.

"Liella", the new idol group that starred in the anime, debuted on February 28 digitally with their first single "Hajimari wa Kimi no Sora" (The Start Is Your Sky). The song debuted in a 2D version in Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS on April 7, and the single with an anime music video also went on sale on April 7. The group held the debut event for their single on May 6th.

Liella members include:

Sayuri Date as Kanon Shibuya
Liyuu as Tang Keke
Nako Misaki as Chisato Arashi
Naomi Payton as Sumire Heanna
Nagisa Aoyama plays Ren Hazuki
Crunchyroll is streaming the series in the UK and Ireland and describes the story:

The first students arrived at Yuigaoka Girls' High School, a new academy built at the crossroads of Omotesando, Harajuku and Aoyama. With no history, no superiors to rely on and no name to speak of, this school is starting from scratch!
In the midst of this, a team of five girls led by Kanon Shibuya discovers "school idols".
- I love to sing! I really do! And I want to accomplish something with it!
Thus the hopes of these stars, still small in stature, begin to accumulate… and so begins the “School Idol Project” of five girls with a clean slate and infinite potential.
Hajime Yatate, the collective pseudonym for Sunrise staff, is once again credited for the original work. Sakurako Kimino is also credited again for the original concept, as in the previous Love Live! souls. Takahiko Kyōgoku, the director of the original Love Live! School idol project and subsequent film return to directing together with Love Live! School Idol Project and Love Live! Sunlight!! writer Jukki Hanada. Atsushi Saitō (Black Fox) adapted the original designs from franchise character designer Yūhei Murota. Yoshiaki Fujisawa is also back from the first Love Live! series as a composer for music.

The new anime project features the slogan, “Watashi or Kanaeru Monogatari - Hello !!! Love Live! " (My dream story come true. Hi !!! Love Live! ”). This is a reference to the previous slogan of the “Minna de Kanaeru Monogatari” franchise, which refers to the fact that the names of the school idol group, core artists, song lyrics and other aspects are decided by the vote of the fans.
