Mainframe Defenders is a classic turn-based strategy game that pays homage to classic series such as X-COM (1994) MechCommander (1998), and Trade union (1987). We wanted to take the player back to the days of old school games, when the story was presented in text format and the authors exercised their creativity, which is what we still love about the 80s and 90s.

Mainframe Defenders is set in the "Stargazer" research complex, where a computer virus infected the artificial intelligence that controlled the complex and took over the local equipment. Of course, this leads to complete and utter chaos and destruction. The player takes on the role of a defense algorithm that protects the AI ​​from rampant running machines.

The game is divided into a series of missions with different objectives. Upon their completion, the player receives various rewards that can help him develop mechanical robots and find clues to get to the bottom of the plot. The game universe is designed in the retro style of 80s computer terminals. The player has four units per mission. Choosing the right tactic can lead to victory after enemy mechs are outnumbered.

Where the game really shines is in its addictive gameplay and high replay value. This is what we spent most of our time on during development. We really tried to refine this to make our players happy.

The strong point of the game is its customization. Receive spare parts as a quest reward. The higher the difficulty, the more rewards you can get. The content of the shop changes after the battle. There are three types of items depending on their rarity: the higher it is, the harder it is to get them. This is where the most hardcore mechanics come into play.

Mainframe Defenders it combines "VHS style" with some synth music that mimics 80s workstations. Breaking cords, destroying obstacles and walls. Armor-piercing ammo that deals high and corrosive damage. High quality team assemblies, tactical battle trophies on an old LCD display ... The OS is ready to boot and the system is going haywire which means it's time to show that malicious virus behind the green pixels and the mighty mechs who's the real boss here.

Lead a team of 4 prototypes on a mission to defend the mainframe complex. You will have to repel the assaults, destroy the unit makers, download valuable data, eliminate infected nodes and do more on your way to the deeper parts of the complex. Work with the limitations and drawbacks of the articles to create powerful combinations. Destroy your enemies with different tactics: overheat them, melt them with corrosion, absorb damage and return fire.
