The prestigious French company Dandelooo, winner of the Emmy Award in the field of animation, has announced the signing of an agreement with the renowned French production house Xbo Films for the new 2D Christmas special entitled Marcel, Santa Claus (and the boy who delivers the pizzas). The deal gives Dandelooo exclusive worldwide distribution rights to this fascinating 45-minute film, which will premiere on Canal+ in France on December 24 and stream on My Canal.
The film, directed by Julie Rembauville and Nicolas Bianco-Levrin, (known for their works Kiki the Feather and It's a Dog's Life) and enriched by the music and songs of Marcel Merlot and Cedryck Santens, represents "a moving and adventurous story, with a modern musical touch”, suitable for children of all ages.
The synopsis of the film introduces us to the eve of December 24th, in an anonymous and gloomy suburb, where young Abdou, a dreamy pizza deliveryman, runs into Marcel, the real Santa Claus. Tired and exhausted, Marcel is waiting for his well-deserved retirement, but a scooter accident puts his gift delivery at risk.
However, thanks to the help of Abdou and some unusual characters from the neighborhood, the Christmas deliveries proceed as expected, turning the evening into an unforgettable adventure.
Marcel, Santa Claus (and the boy who delivers the pizzas) is a touching story of friendship, in which myth and reality blend between laughter and tears, all surrounded by a sweet aura of tenderness. In the midst of chaos, Christmas is saved thanks to the power of music, songs, sleds and scooters!
