MASK The animated series of 1985

MASK (Acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Command) is a 1985-1986 French animated series produced by DIC Enterprises and ICC TV Productions, Ltd. The series was based on the MASK action figure produced by Kenner Products. It was animated in Japan by Ashi Productions and KK DIC Asia (later known as KK C&D Asia).

History

This series tells the adventures of a special task force, the MASK (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand: Commando Blindé de choc), which fights against the criminal organization VENOM (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem). The two groups compete with transformable vehicles and helmets with special powers called "masks".

In the animated series, at the beginning of each operation, the head of MASK, Matt Tracker, interrogates a mini-computer placed on the dashboard of his car to select the most suitable agents to carry out the mission. Generally, the computer provides from 2 to 6 names, citing the skills or even the professions of each for each identity. This computer, then speaking, adds for each retained member a code name which is the name of the agent mask or the name of his vehicle. Very rarely, when Matt is not in his vehicle (whether in another car or not), does he question this mini-computer which then takes the form of a laptop placed in a case that Tracker carries with him. . Note that in an episode or two, the selection is made by another squad member because MASK's boss is absent at the time. Most of the time, once the computer search is complete, Matt Tracker explicitly approves the result.
