Mediacorp goes “green” with “Galapagos X” by Big Bad Boo
Big Bad Boo Studios has partnered with Singapore's national media network Mediacorp for the new children's TV series Galapagos X. In this deal, Mediacorp acquired the exclusive rights to air the new environmental-themed animated series on its Singapore free-to-air TV channel Okto on 5, as well as the rights to be the sole distributor of the show in over 20 Asian territories.
Created by Shabnam Rezaei ( 16 Hudsons, director-producer The Brave Knight ), Galapagos is currently in production at Big Bad Boo Studios with broadcasters TVOKids, SRC Radio-Canada, Knowledge Kids and TFO. Other partners Shaw Rocket Fund and Canadian Media Fund are also part of the funding. Aimed at children aged six to 11, the show's first season comprises 26 11' episodes.

Galapagos X follows four explorers from the future and their blue-footed booby as they set out to prevent future environmental problems from occurring, finding the source in the present.
Airing in 2023, Galapagos X will tread new territory, both literally and figuratively, as Big Bad Boo is developing an interactive virtual reality component that sees its audience exploring different ecosystems as well as creating a traditional television series and a book of digital fairy tales.

With Millie Davis by Odd Squad as the main character Orchid, Gavin MacIver-Wright as young Quinn Crock and Nathalie Boltt's Riverdale as power-hungry social media mogul Doc Crock, Galapagos features a noteworthy cast whose expertise ranges from live-action films and series to theatre.
Based in New York and Vancouver, Big Bad Boo Studios is the home of Hulu's The Brave Knight, 16 Hudson, Lili & Lola, Mixed nuts e 1001 Nights , which has been nominated for 14 LEO awards with five wins. Big Bad Boo is currently producing the procedural series Judge Jodhi , Galapagos and a host of digital games and apps. The company's streaming channel, Oznoz, provides cartoons in over 10 languages, including classics like Thomas and Friends, Bob the Builder, Babar and others.
