Meet Elmo's new puppy in Sesame Street, HBO Max Special "Furry Friends Forever"

Debuting on HBO Max on Thursday, August 5, fans of all ages will learn how Tango came to Sesame Street in a new 30-minute special Furry Friends Forever: Elmo gets a puppy. A preview of the 2D animated adoption adventure was released today, in which Elmo and Grover come up with the perfect name for their new friend.

Synopsis: Elmo and Grover discover a sweet stray puppy - whom they immediately call Tango - and embark on a neighborhood-wide adventure with Sesame Street friends Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and Oscar the Grouch. Together, they search the local pet adoption fair in hopes of finding them a "forever home".

To welcome Tango to the neighborhood, Sesame Workshop is launching brand new and exclusive digital content featuring Elmo, Tango and other furry friends on Sesame Street's YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter platforms. Families can also visit Sesame Workshop's Furry Friends Forever webpage for printable games and activities.

Tango will join Sesame Streetof the 52nd season as both an animated character and a live-action Sesame Street Muppet, which debuts this fall on HBO Max and PBS in 2022.
