Monster House Monster House, 13D animation directed by Gil Kenan and produced by Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis (who previously directed the animated films: The Polar Express and Who Framed Roger Rabbit) will be released in cinemas from 3 October. 'Horror' movies not to be missed, between shivers of fear and… not a few laughs! It's Holloween night: DJ and Timballo (two twelve-year-olds struggling with the first insecurities of puberty) wander the gloomy and ghostly streets of their neighborhood, not knowing what to do. Until a large and mysterious house captures their attention. This is the house of Mr. Nebbercracker: a grumpy and misanthropic old man who keeps anyone away from his surroundings, especially children (by confiscating the toys that unfortunately end up in his garden).
The day before Halloween, however, Mr. Nebbercracker has a heart attack while trying to steal the DJ ball and is taken to the hospital. The house therefore remains unattended, so the two young friends realize that quite bizarre things are happening inside and are convinced that the house is populated by ghosts. Later they understand instead that the house itself is a man-eating monster: Jenny, new friend of DJ and Timballo, in fact risks being eaten ... Our heroes try to make everyone aware of the danger, but no one (especially adults) will believe it ... From a technical and animation point of view, Monster House is a happily successful and valid film. The realism with which expressions, gestures, actions, environments, objects etc. have been obtained was obtained using the innovative motion capture system, developed by Sony Pictures Imageworks. But this feature film is also valid for its contents. In fact, delicate (as well as problematic ...) issues are dealt with, such as, for example, adolescence: the passage between childhood and adolescence not without contradiction and fragility; the difficult parent-child relationship; the often cynical neglect of adults towards children. by Helga Corpino
