“Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild” coming soon to Netflix
A new video game-inspired anime will join Netflix's original movie lineup next month, with Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild premiered in streaming on 12 August. Inspired by the Capcom title, the CGI functionality promises a faithful recreation of the video game world compared to live-action release in 2020.
In a world where humans and fearsome monsters live in precarious balance, the young hunter Aiden fights to save his village from the destruction of a dragon.
Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild follows the journey of Aiden, a hunter introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Capcom's is back in Monster Hunter: World. The origin story of the film for “Ace Cadet” will follow Aiden as he sets out to defend his village from the Elder Dragon, teaming up with the grumpy hunter Juluis and other happy companions.
The vocal cast includes Ben Rausch, Erica Lindbeck and Dante Basco. The Netflix film marks the directorial debut of VFX artist Steven F. Yamamoto.
