Netflix discovers the fantastic soundtrack of Craig McCracken's "Kid Cosmic"

Netflix is ​​releasing the soundtrack of Craig McCracken's acclaimed new series kid cosmic Friday (February 26). The music for the captivating cartoon is composed by Andy Bean, an Emmy-nominated songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in music for animation.

As Bean says Animation magazine, “Craig described his vision for Dr. Fang & The Gang to me over five years ago, and I started writing songs with the group's characters immediately, even before I knew any more details about the show. Bean began his career as half of the retro duo The Two Man Gentlemen Band, first performing in New York City's parks and subways before traveling for most of a decade. The duo's irreverent songwriting and intense live performances have earned them a fiercely devoted (albeit modestly sized) following in the United States and Europe.

Through his work with the band, Bean landed his first concert as a composer with McCracken's Emmy-nominated Disney animated series. Wander Over Yonder. His frantic banjo-driven sci-fi soundtracks and sincere songwriting for the show earned him two Annie Award nominations.

Bean is currently the composer and author of Disney's internationally successful preschool series Dog puppy friends, and songwriter for Disney Junior Muppet Babies reboot (for which she received her first Emmy nomination). Between the two, he has written over 300 songs from dozens of genres and written over 100 episodes.

kid cosmic follows the adventures of a bizarre and imaginative little boy who lives with his grandmother in a small desert town in New Mexico. His life turns upside down when he gains superpowers after finding five magical gems. All 10 episodes of the show's first season are available to stream on Netflix.
