Netflix releases family dinner video clip from "Over the Moon"

Netflix has released a new video clip taken from its animated film "Over the Moon". Directed by Academy Award winner Glen Keane and produced with Pearl Studio (Abominable), the film will arrive in streaming on October 23, 2020.

The Moon Festival dates back centuries in ancient China, an annual tradition anchored in a family reunion and as a thank you to the Moon for the harvest. Perhaps if, like the young heroine of the film, you look up towards the full moon for the October 1st harvest, you might be able to see the moon goddess Chang'e and her companion, the jade rabbit…

Synopsis: Fueled by determination and a passion for science, a brilliant young girl builds a rocket to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary moon goddess. There he ends up on an unexpected search and discovers an extravagant land of fantastic creatures.

Directed by animation legend Glen Keane and produced by Gennie Rim and Peilin Chou, over the moon is an exciting musical adventure about how to move forward, embrace the unexpected and the power of the imagination. The film stars Cathy Ang (Fei Fei), Phillipa Soo (Chang'e), Robert G. Chiu (Chin), Ken Jeong (Gobi), John Cho (dad), Ruthie Ann Miles (mom), Margaret Cho ( Auntie Ling), Kimiko Glenn (aunt Mei), Artt Butler (uncle) and Sandra Oh (Ms. Zhong).
