Noggin's cartoons celebrate African American culture with "Rhymes Through Times"

Noggin, Nickelodeon's preschool educational channel, for children aged 2 to 5, has launched a new animated musical series entitled, Rhymes Through Times, featuring original music and lyrics written and performed by award-winning actor / singer / songwriter / composer Christopher Jackson (Hamilton, Moana) and Nick's fan favorite preschool characters.

Available now on Noggin and on Nick Jr.'s YouTube channel, the three-episode cartoon series celebrates the experience of African Americans and shows the contribution of Africans to American culture, focusing on civil rights and leadership, the performing arts and science.

The first episode of Rhymes Through Times, “Hero,” follows Ruby Bridges and Thurgood Marshall, played by Bubble guppies'Zooli and Goby, as they take a stand against segregation. Subsequent Episodes - "My Best," which celebrates Katherine Johnson (played by Nella from Nella the princess knight) and Guion Stewart Bluford Jr.'s (played by Goby) contribution to space exploration; and "Why We Dance," which stars Nella as Katherine Dunham and AJ di Blaze and the monster machines while Alvin Ailey expresses himself through dance, it will be released every week on Noggin and on the Nick Jr. YouTube channel. The episodes will also air on the Nick Jr. channel.

Coinciding with the launch of the respective episodes, each of the songs of Rhymes Through Times will be available on over 200 digital streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Amazon Music, Pandora, and more.

Character development, animation and design for Rhymes Through Times are by Lion Forge Animation, LLC (Oscar-winning short film Hair love), and Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum was an educational consultant.

Rhymes Through Times incorporates a social and emotional curriculum, emphasizing the value of kindness, perseverance and fairness. In keeping with Noggin's learning approach which aims to help preschoolers build big hearts, strong minds and healthy bodies, the series is the latest addition to Noggin's list of content that includes the recently launched series. Noggin Knows, Kinderwood, School of Yum, Word Play e Travel of imagination, among others.

In Noggin, learning is guided by Nickelodeon preschool characters that children know and love and developed by education and child development experts. The interactive service offers an ever-expanding library of books, learning games, activities, exclusive shorts and over 1.000 ad-free episodes of preschool favorites such as Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig e Blue's Clues & You!
