P3K PINOCCHIO 3000

Pinocchio 3000It takes a real heart to become a real baby. And the ability to discern between good and evil. When he was created, in the year 3000, the little super-robot Pinocchio sadly lacked both. Although gifted with emotions and the amazing ability to speak, laugh, dance and sing, the naive Pinocchio - the result of the old school craftsmanship of 'dad' Geppetto applied to hyper-technological means of the fourth millennium - will have to go a long way littered with obstacles before the mistakes made and the dangers looming can be realized. Despite the wise advice of the holographic fairy Cyberina (nicely dispensed through Platinette's mouth) and the devoted laboratory assistant Spencer, the tough Pinocchio falls victim to the manipulations of Scamboli, the cynical mayor of Scamboville. Pinocchio 3000The innate wickedness of Scamboli is exacerbated by the mad jealousy towards the ingenious Geppetto and towards his beloved daughter Marlene, a faithful friend of Pinocchio and tenacious opponent of his father's anti-environmental policy. It will only be thanks to the intervention of the people closest to him that a more mature Pinocchio will be able to escape the manipulations of Scamboli, aimed at transforming all children into robots to be allocated to the local playground. Pinocchio's little lies will not obscure a great truth: even a puppet can find in himself the right values to recognize his mistakes and get to win a child's heart.
Pinocchio 3000Pinocchio is a small, naive and spontaneous robot, incapable of malice. He has some difficulty in distinguishing good from evil, which often gets him into trouble. But his goodness and his courage turn a blind eye to his little shortcomings. For every lie told, his nose lengthens - precisely to remind him that he is wrong. The main question in Pinocchio's life is: is it better to become a real child or remain a robot?
Geppetto is a lovable weird genius. He cannot help but invent the most bizarre things. By creating Pinocchio, he gave himself a son. And even if he is not the most obedient of children, Geppetto would face any danger to protect him.
Pinocchio 3000Spencer (a sort of talking cricket) is a cyber-penguin who talks about proverbs (unfortunately always reversed!), Half animal half robot, due to a terrible experiment by Scamboli. Saved by Geppetto, Spencer repaid him by becoming his most devoted assistant. Even if a little nosy, he is certainly the best friend of Geppetto and Pinocchio.
Scamboli is the evil, all-powerful mayor of Scamboville. He is thirsty for power and plans to destroy the green to build more skyscrapers. Hates children - too noisy, better turn them into docile robots. He stops at nothing, but all his projects are doomed to fail.
Pinocchio 3000Marlene is a nature-loving girl and daughter of the evil Scamboli. She is torn between the love of a devoted daughter and the repulsion for the anti-environmental activities of her father, who tries in every way to convert to ecology. Marlene's most intimate pain is the lack of friends. He hates robots, especially the henchmen Cab and Rodo, but, when he realizes that Pinocchio is special, a deep affection is born for him.
CAB & RODO are two robots heirs of the cat and the fox: Cab, a lanky and clumsy robot, is the prototype of the 'yes-man'. He wants to be a bully at all costs, but deep down he is better than he looks. Rodo, the business partner, is equally clumsy but always ready to impress the boss Scamboli with his means. Fortunately for Pinocchio, even Rodo, like Cab, is too dumb to really hurt.
Cyberina is a holographic fairy with the features of a mermaid, full of spirit and magic, Cyberina is eccentric, noisy, lively. It is also the only one that can achieve the impossible: transform Pinocchio from a robot into a real child. Cyberina's voice is from Platinette. Making the most of her versatile and multiple vocal quality for an interpretation that in the original version is by Whoopi Goldberg, Platinette enhances the sophisticated vivacity and sense of humor that characterize the most up-to-date fairy in the history of ' Pinocchio'.

THE MOST CLASSIC OF STORIES IN THE MOST FUTURISTIC OF THE WORLDS: PINOCCHIO 3000, A CYBERCLASSIC
How to reinterpret an extremely popular story in an original way? The project to rework Collodi's classic in a futuristic key dates back to 1998: the result is a compelling mix of adventure, action and classic themes that make P3K an ultramodern fairytale of universal appeal.

The story of the inexperienced puppet who humanizes himself only after a tiring process of growth is certainly an excellent start, but to be able to re-propose it a revitalizing touch of sure effect was needed. Nothing better than a futuristic setting, maximized by the potential of 3D animation.
When Medialab, a French company specializing in computer animation, proposes the idea of a Pinocchio transferred to the 31st century to the Canadian Cin Group, it doesn't take long to convince producer Jacques Pettigrew of the potential of the project. Moreover, the creative writing of the already well-known Claude Scasso and the direction of the Canadian Daniel Robichaud would undoubtedly have made decisive contributions for the modernization of classical history.
Expectations were not disappointed. Although in his first feature film, Robichaud used all his imagination and experience (developed in the context of excellent collaborations for films such as' Titanic ',' Terminator 2 - 3D ',' Apollo 13 ',' The Fifth Element ',' The King Scorpio ') to create an absolutely unique world, with a fascinating retro-futuristic style.
The development of the project required a real tour-de-force by the international team. Based on a 10-month production schedule, more than 100 professionals - including 30 animators - took turns in a marathon of day and night work that from Canada extended to France and Spain, co-producing countries. The result could only be a winner: like Geppetto with his Pinocchio created out of nothing, the whole team enthusiastically accepted the challenge of seeing their creature arrive at possible perfection.
