Pink Parrot Media acquires the rights to the film "Butterfly Tale"

Pink Parrot Media (PPM), an international sales and distribution company based in Montreal / Madrid, has secured the acquisition of the new animated series spin-off based on the IP ownership of Carpediem and the upcoming feature film Butterfly Tale (Tale of the Butterfly). A prequel to the film, the CGI animated series Butterfly Academy (Butterfly Academy) (working title) is co-produced by the film's production team, Canadian CarpeDiem (Snowtime!) and the German Ulysses Filmproduktion (Ooops! I lost the ark ... ).

The production of Butterfly Tale (Tale of the butterfly) began in January, with first-time director Sophie Roy, one of the young talents of Canadian cinema.

Produced by Marie-Claude Beauchamp at CarpeDiem and Emely Christians of Ulysses, Société Radio-Canada is on board as a Canadian broadcaster.

Set against the backdrop of Milkweed Academy, a high school for monarch butterflies, the series will include many of the film's adorable characters, including the lovable one-winged disabled butterfly Patrick, joined by friends Marty and Jennifer among many others. . as they navigate through the challenges of their high school life and learn about the great migration of monarchs and all its challenges.

Author and writer Heidi Foss is on board as a screenwriter. In addition to writing, story editing and series development credits for shows on HBO, Fox, PBS, YTV, Nickelodeon, and BBC, Foss is a well-known Canadian stand-up comedian. Most recently she was a story editor in the first season of Air Bud Pup Academy for Disney.

Lienne Sawatsky, nominated for the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards and WGC Awards for Outstanding Writing in the Animated TV Series wishfart, he also joins the production team as a screenwriter. Sawatsky is best known for her work on major series for Disney Channel, Nick Jr. and Cartoon Network such as Sidekick e Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5.

PPM is currently looking for co-production partners. The 52 x 11 'animated series will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2023.

The animation fiolm  Butterfly Tale (Tale of the Butterfly) has already been pre-sold in France and Germany (Wild Bunch), Poland and Romania (Monolith), Former Yugoslavia (Blitz) and the Middle East (Front Row) and will be released in theaters in the fourth quarter of 2022.
