Preview of the trailer for the video game anime "Tales of Arise"
Bandai Namco Entertainment streamed new trailers for her new RPG Tales of Arise. The videos preview the fishing, camping and cooking segments of the game.
The game will be launched for Play Station 4, Play Station 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam September 10 in the West and September 9 in Japan.
The game was originally slated to launch in 2020, but Bandai Namco delayed it for beyond 2020 “due to the ambitious nature of the project”. The producer of the game Yusuke Tomizawa said: "To achieve quality and deliver the wonderful experience we envision for our players, we needed more time to realize that vision and so we decided to delay release times for Tales of Arise. " Tomizawa noted that "COVID-19 affected some aspects of development," but the developers worked to adapt to circumstances and work remotely.
Bandai Namco Entertainment describes the story:
Tales of Arise takes place in a solar system that contains the two neighboring planets of Dahna and Rena. The inhabitants of Dahna have always paid homage to their planetary neighbors on Rena - a planet they can see clearly in their sky - as a land of righteous and divine. For the people of Dahna, the legends and traditions about Rena and its inhabitants have been passed down for countless generations and, over time, have become facts in their minds that have effectively masked a cruel reality for the people of Dahna. For 300 years, the people of Rena ruled over Dahna, plundering the planet of its resources and depriving its people of their dignity and freedom. Tales of Arise begins with two people, born in different worlds, each eager to change their destiny and create a new future for themselves and perhaps for their people. With an original cast of characters, a dramatic storyline, dynamic combat, breathtaking environments, with some classic elements of Tales Of included; Tales of Arise marks a new beginning for the famous JRPG franchise.
The game's website describes the two main characters:
Takuya Sato as Alphen, from the planet Dahna. Alphen is a young man who has lost his memories and sense of pain and wears an iron mask. After meeting Shionne, he takes the Flame Sword with the aim of freeing Dahna from Rena.
Shino Shimoji like Shionne, from the planet of Rena. She is a girl cursed by "Thorns", she has the power to give pain to those she touches. He joins Alphen for a hidden goal and to fight against his fellow Renans.
Tomizawa took charge of the franchise the Tales of Arise development team. I study ufotable is handling the game animation.
The next chapter of Tales of Arise uses Unreal Engine 4, but the staff have tried to incorporate the art style from previous games. This includes cut scenes rendered in a watercolor CG style, and the staff are working on bringing anime-style and photorealistic artwork to coexist in the game.
