The directors created Bottle Cap at Psyop, the award-winning animation studio they co-founded with Todd Mueller, Kylie Matulick and Eben Mears, using the Unreal Engine, with the support of an Epic MegaGrant. The short is produced in association with Parley for the Oceans, Content for Change and Epic Games.
“The Bottle Cap was truly a labor of love for everyone involved. We were able to put together the perfect team for the project, all longtime collaborators of the two directors. At the end of the day it was truly a family affair and everyone poured their heart and soul into every frame of the film, ”added Andrew Linsk, executive producer / producer.
Plot: Size matters to a fiddler crab: the size of the claws, that is. And it's a problem for Shelton. When a plastic bottle cap replaces his useless digging claw, Shelton believes he is about to become a god. But for a crab that hated being different and instead dreamed of being "just average," this kind of glory will come at a horrible cost.
Bottle Cap peeks off Psyop's short film list of 2022, with further selections at festivals across Europe and the US to be announced soon.
