At this year's AFM Online (November 1-5), Studio 100 Film will present Quixotes - The Heirs of La Mancha (Quixote - The Heirs of La Mancha), currently in production. Available at the end of 2022, the film is a co-production between Studio 100 Media GmbH, GF Films (Argentina) and MARK13 - COM (Germany). The adventure comedy film revisits one of the most popular books of all time: The ingenious gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, by Miguel de Cervantes. Carlos Kotkin, best known for Rio 2, is the screenwriter behind Studio 100 Film's latest project.

While Constantin Film Verleih has acquired the rights to all German-speaking territories, Studio 100 Film is also announcing international sales with countries such as Russia and the CIS territories, Poland, Portugal, Israel, Bulgaria, the Balkans and the Baltic countries. Studio 100 Film expects to close more deals during AFM Online next month.

At the heart of the film's story are XNUMX-year-old Alfonso, the great-great-grandson of the famous Don Quixote, and his three imaginary bunny friends. When his hometown is threatened by a powerful storm capable of destroying everything in its path, Alfonso is joined by Pancho (Sancho Panza's great-great-granddaughter) and Victoria. Together they have decided to save their beloved city of La Mancha and along the way Alfonso discovers the power of friendship and finds his first love.

"Quixote is a family film that addresses universal and contemporary themes such as friendship and relationships. Just like Don Quixote, with a little imagination, anything can be possible. Using physical humor and a subtext, we hope to be able to appeal to both younger and older audiences, ”said Thorsten Wegener, executive producer and director of commercial operations at Studio 100 Film.
