Remastered "Robotech" series, Funimation and Blu-ray streaming movie set

Robotech, the space anime epic in which humans defend their homeworld from alien domination, is set to return for a new generation of audiences as Funimation premieres all 85 remastered episodes of the series, along with the two films, Robotech II: The Sentinels e Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles - on its streaming service in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand on August 24.

Produced by Harmony Gold and Tatsunoko Productions, the animated action adventure series Robotech introduced an entire generation of viewers to the anime when it first premiered in 1985 and, to this day, has a thriving and large fan base around the world.

Robotech is told through the eyes of characters involved in a series of wars that break out when a mysterious spaceship crashes to Earth. Only by revealing the secrets of “Robotechnology” do they have any hope of surviving. The sprawling series has helped introduce a generation of Western audiences to anime and is filled with engaging drama, genuine relationships, and forward-thinking ideas.

Robotech - Collector's Edition (Funimation)

Funimation will also debut exclusively on Robotech - Collector's Edition box set on September 28 on Funimation Shop, containing all 85 episodes of the series, all remastered for the first time on Blu-ray in Dolby Digital. The remaster will be faithful to the previous release of the DVD box set and will retain a classic "film grain".

With its retro packaging design, the Collector's Edition also includes: an exclusive Variant Transforming Robotech - Roy Fokker VF-1S; an exclusive Action Figure Variant - Roy Fokker in Pilot Uniform Variant Shade of Black; and a series of embroidered patches. It's the first time and a truly one-of-a-kind double pack of Transforming Robotech and action figures.
