Sadie and Gilbert (original title Sadie Sparks) is an Irish and French-produced animated series, which premiered on Disney Channel in the UK and Ireland on April 20, 2019. The series was created by Bronagh O'Hanlon and is a co-production between Brown Bag Films in Ireland e Cyber Group Studios in France.
The animated series will arrive for the first time on Cartoon (DTT channel 46) to start from 31 August, every day, at 17.30 pm. The new episodes in the first free TV series of the SADIE E GILBERT series will be dedicated to discovery, magic and friendship.
The show tells the adventures of Sadie, a normal fourteen-year-old girl whose life is turned upside down when she discovers, quite by chance, that she possesses magical powers. In fact, Sadie is a sorceress, or rather, a sorceress in training… it is a very special case: in the world of wizards it is unheard of for someone so young to have such a special gift!
For this reason, the Guardians of Magic send alongside him Gilbert, an elderly, gruff, and near retirement rabbit, to guide Sadie into the world of magical arts. Gilbert initially takes on this new role very reluctantly, but slowly begins to understand that Sadie, if properly educated, could indeed become a special sorceress. Instead, the girl will discover that the life of a magician is not made up of only magic and fulfilled wishes.
SADIE AND GILBERT is a show starring a truly explosive couple: Gilbert, an expert and grumpy, does nothing but follow the right and the rules while Sadie is all instinct and emotion. But together the two, without even realizing it, will form a magical combination! Sadie and Gilbert will travel from one world to another using the traditional magician's hat as a portal, the setting of the series involves two worlds, on the one hand that of humans, made in CGI, and on the other that of magic, made with classic 2D graphics.
