History

Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy win the car racing race

Every year, all the classic Hollywood monsters (consisting of the Frankenstein monster, his Repulsed wife, a mummy, the witch sisters, the skeleton, Dr. Jackyll / Mr. Snyde, Thing of the Swamp and Dragonfly) gather in the Earl's castle. Dracula in Transylvania for the "Monster Road Rally", a road race similar to Wacky Races, which awards the winner the "Monster of the Year" award and many other macabre prizes, as announced by Dracula's wife and co-host, Vanna Pira. This year, however, Dracula receives a postcard from the werewolf who claims to have retired to Florida and will therefore no longer participate in competitions.

Dracula fears he will have to cancel the race due to this sudden absence. Fortunately, Dracula's wolf-like minion Wolfgang also notifies him of a way to find a new werewolf, to replace the previous one. After searching for information in an old book, it is revealed that every five centuries, the full moon arrives in the perfect position to transform a human into a werewolf, for three nights in a row starting the next night. The next in line to become the next werewolf turns out to be none other than Shaggy Rogers, who recently proved her skills on the track by winning a car race with the help of her pet dogs: a great talking Danish named Scooby-Doo. and his young grandson Scrappy Doo.

Count Dracula's henchmen Crunch and Brunch

Dracula sends his hunchbacked henchmen, "The Hunch Bunch" (composed of the unintelligent and incomprehensible Crunch and the sly and well-articulated brunch), on a mission to America, in order to transform Shaggy into a werewolf and bring him back to his castle for the competition. On the first night, Hunch Bunch attempts to poke a hole in the roof above Shaggy's bedroom, to make the moon shine on him. However, Scooby learns of their plan and rescues Shaggy just in time, before his transformation could begin. However he fails to convince Shaggy and Scrappy of Hunch Bunch's presence. On the second night, they chase Shaggy while he is shopping with Scooby in a supermarket, but again they lose their window due to their own incompetence. On the last night, while the trio is at a drive-in movie, along with Shaggy's girlfriend Googie, Hunch Bunch manages to expose Shaggy in the moonlight by dropping the sunroof of his custom racing car with a simple push of the pulsating, causing Shaggy to transform into a werewolf.

Shaggy transformed into a werewolf

However, an unexpected anomaly interrupts the celebration of Hunch Bunch, when they discover that Shaggy's hiccup is forcing him to alternate between human and werewolf. Not noticing Shaggy's transformations into a werewolf, Googie sends Shaggy to a nearby snack bar for something to cure his hiccup and draws horror from other onlookers along the way. Scooby, hearing them talk about a werewolf on the loose in the theater, hides in a nearby car. The Hunch Bunch attempts to kidnap Shaggy, who runs away from them, and is then chased by the crowd when they see him as a werewolf. After meeting Scooby and seeing his reflection, Shaggy escapes the drive-in with his car, Scooby, Scrappy and Googie in tow, escaping his pursuers with the car's custom features, losing the hiccups in the chase and thus remaining trapped in the form of a werewolf.

After reviving the group and cementing their situation, Dracula informs Shaggy that he has been transformed into a werewolf to fill the missing space in his monstrous roadside rally. Shaggy, having no desire to be a werewolf, is unhappy with his current situation and refuses to participate in Dracula's plans. Dracula attempts to pressure Shaggy, talking about the pre-contest party and all of his rewards, showing the rewards for the contest, imprisoning Shaggy and his gang in a guest room, and locking them in a trapped room during their escape attempt. Eventually, however, Shaggy still refuses and Dracula finally offers him a deal: if Shaggy agrees to drive in the race and wins, Dracula will turn him back into a human and allow him and his friends to leave. The deal is done,

The gang is then given good lodging and treated as guests in the castle, with all the food they want for breakfast. Dracula then shows them the track that Shaggy will have to follow for the race and agrees to let them ride the track in his own racing car, with the "Wagon Werewolf" currently undergoing maintenance for Shaggy. Dracula attempts to rig the trail by sending the Hunch Bunch to implement traps, but despite their best efforts, Shaggy completes the course with skill, causing the Count to fear that he may lose his werewolf. He later changes the racecourse, sabotages the Werewolf Wagon and orders Hunch Bunch to deprive Shaggy of sleep.

The next morning, Googie energizes Shaggy with a kiss and he repairs the werewolf's chariot shortly after the race starts. Throughout the entire race, everyone conspires against Shaggy and Scooby, from Hunch Bunch's booby traps to some of the monstrous racers who shrink them or shoot them lightning bolts to the same Dracula who sets false deflection signals and steals their engine. But thanks to Googie and Scrappy, who follow their crew into the pits in their car, as well as Dracula's incompetence, Hunch Bunch and the racing monsters, they often end up doing more damage to themselves than he does. After numerous unsuccessful attempts, Dracula loses his temper and unleashes his secret weapon, a giant ape-like beast named Genghis Kong. Genghis Kong grabs Scooby, much to Shaggy's horror. Like the other runners near the finish line,

Furious to see that all his plans have failed, Dracula refuses to undo the spell, stating that there is no way to bring Shaggy back. However, after Vanna Pira reveals that the solution is in Dracula's spellbook, the gang steals the book and runs away. Dracula pursues them with his armed car, and then his plane after the car is destroyed in the chase. The four can barely dodge Dracula's powerful gadgets, and seconds before Dracula gets the better of them, a thunderstorm ensues and Dracula's plane is struck by lightning, causing him to plummet into the ocean below where he is chased away. from a shark.

Eventually, at home, Googie uses the book to bring Shaggy back to normal. That night, the gang all sit down to watch another horror movie and eat pizza. In this final scene, Dracula and Hunch Bunch sneak up to their window and ominously announce their return at the end of the film.
