The manga A certain magical index Side Story: A Certain Scientific Mental Ou

Yasuhito Nogi has released a new manga spinoff from Kazuma Kamachi entitled Toaru Majutsu no Index Gaiden: To Aru Kagaku no Mental Out (Some magic index Side Story: A Certain Scientific Mental Out). The manga is inspired by the light novel series by Kadokawa Newtype comics . The manga centers on Misaki Shokuhō, a major character in the spinoff of To Certain Scientific Railgun as it possesses a mind control power called "Mental Out".

Nogi previously drew the manga "A Certain Scientific Railgun: Astral Buddy". That manga centered around Hokaze Junko, who is a follower and devotee of Misaki. That manga published in the magazine of the Kadokawa Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in April 2017 and ended in July 2020. The fourth and final volume of the manga's compiled book was released in October 2020.
