DreamWorks Animation has released the heartwarming trailer for the new Christmas holiday special animation film titled Spirit: Free Adventures: The spirit of Christmas (Spirit Riding Free: Spirit of Christmas in the American original), based on the Emmy Award-winning Spirit Riding Free series. The trailer in the original version shows the actress and singer Katherine McNamara acting and singing in the character's interpretation of Sally Jessup, in a performance with original Christmas songs.

In Spirit: Free Adventures: The spirit of Christmas , Lucky Prescott and her friends board the train to go to town on Christmas Eve to find the perfect gift. Unfortunately, on their return to Miradero the track is submerged by an avalanche, so they will have to upset their plans. In the midst of the chaos, the girls meet their favorite singer, Sally Jessup, whose Christmas music soothes, gives hope and strength to the passengers on the distressed train as they try to return to their village.
Inspired by the Oscar nominated film Spirit - Wild horse , DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free follows the journey of an indomitable wild mustang. The Emmy-winning series launched in May 2017, with 52 episodes currently available on Netflix and more coming in 2020. DreamWorks recently announced the making of an as-yet-untitled animated feature based on the hit series, whose release is scheduled for 2021.
In Italy, the animated series Spirit Riding Free
It was broadcast on DeA Kids starting from 11 September 2017 with an opening theme interpreted by the Photonic Rays. Later the series was released on 25 May 2018 on Italian Netflix. From 18 June 2018 the series has been broadcast on Super! with a new version of the original theme song, played by Mal and Thomas.
