Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie (Japanese: 劇場版 か ら か い 上手 の 高木 さ ん, Hepburn: Gekijōban Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san) is a 2022 Japanese animated film based on an original story with characters from the manga Teasing Master Takagi -san series and its spin-off Tomorrow Is Saturday, both written and illustrated by Sōichiro Yamamoto. It is a direct sequel to the third season of the anime series. Produced by Shin-Ei Animation and distributed by Toho Visual Entertainment, the film is directed by Hiroaki Akagi from a screenplay written by Hiroko Fukuda, Aki Itami and Kanichi Katō. In the film, Takagi and Nishikata spend the last summer of their third year in middle school.
Initially anticipated in August 2021, the film was confirmed alongside the announcement of a third season for the anime series Teasing Master Takagi-san in September.
The third season staff was announced to direct the film in March 2022, with Rie Takahashi and Yuki Kaji returning to reprise their respective roles of Takagi and Nishikata. The film's additional staff and cast were revealed in April 2022.
Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie premiered in Chiyoda City, Tokyo on June 4, 2022, and was released in Japan on June 10. The film grossed over $ 2 million worldwide.
History

In August 2021, Shogakukan's official website initially released a film version of Sōichiro Yamamoto's Teasing Master Takagi-san manga series after publishing details about the upcoming release of its sixteenth volume.
It was discovered by a group of fans on Twitter who were supporting a possible third season of the anime series.
The film was officially confirmed in September 2021. Sentai Filmworks announced the acquisition of the film's license in December 2021. It was revealed that director Hiroaki Akagi of the anime series of Teasing Master Takagi-san will return to direct the film to Shin- Ei Animation, under the supervision of Yamamoto, in March 2022 along with the main staff of the third season of the anime series.
Including Hiroko Fukuda, Aki Itami and Kanichi Katō as writers and Aya Takano as character designer. Itami wrote the scenes with Hana due to her love of cats, and Katō wrote the scenes involving Mina, Yukari and Sanae. Fukuda was in charge of the main story and thus credited for composing the film. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Rie Takahashi and Yuki Kaji will reprise their roles in the film as Takagi and Nishikata respectively.
In April 2022, it was revealed that Inori Minase and Haruka Tomatsu would join the anime series' additional returning cast in the film. The rest of the film's staff were also revealed, including Yuki Kasahara as art director, Masato Makino as director of photography, Yumiko Nakaba as editor, and Takahiro Enomito as sound director.
In May 2022, the characters who would be voiced by Minase and Tomatsu in the film were revealed as Hana, the kitten found by Takagi and Nishikata respectively, and Ōta, a pet shop saleswoman. In June 2022, Akagi confirmed that the film would have a concept that "did not exist in the original work" that staff would consult with Yamamoto before moving forward with production and conclude the "story that began in the third season of the TV series. "
