The children's cartoons of Chinese video streaming Tencent Inks

Tencent Video, the leading online video streaming platform in China, today announced that it has agreed a co-production agreement with leading European studios Zeilt Productions, Sixteen South and Silvergate Media to develop and produce innovative and exciting new content for children, aimed at a worldwide audience. The three agreements mark the beginning of Tencent Video's multi-year strategy to collaborate with leading international studios across Europe in mutually beneficial co-production deals, which will see the preschool animated series air as originals on Tencent's hugely popular children's platform. The first series will be deep in the bowl (Deep in the bowl) (consisting of 52 episodes of 5 minutes), a hilarious new series aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 12 and inspired by the famous French comics Le Fond du Bocal by Nicolas Poupon. Integrating 3D animation with live-action live action, the show depicts fantastic aquariums with a beautiful cast of fish whose experiences mirror those of children's daily lives. Tencent Video collaborates with an Oscar-winning Luxembourg animation studio Zeilt Productions to co-produce the show, fully funded (including funding from the Film Fund Luxembourg) and already in production. With the broadcast scheduled for 2022, Zeilt and Tencent Video are currently looking for distribution partners for the series.

Sixteen South, the sBAFTA-winning studio, one of the leading creators of original animated content in the UK and Ireland, is thrilled to create quality TV shows for children around the world. Its success includes: Wildwoods, the children's program no. 1 visa to Australia, which is also popular in China on digital platforms; the revolutionary animated series in mixed media Lily's Driftwood Bay, which currently airs in 125 territories around the world; and 2D animation Claude, which airs in all countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. Sixteen South is working with Tencent Video on a new original 3D comedy series that will be announced soon.

The licensing and content company Silvergate Media  has already been successful in China and has the knowledge and expertise to create captivating shows for the market. Silvergate is working on a CGI animated comedy series that will air on Tencent Kids and around the world on a major SVOD platform in 2022.
