What the series is about?: Fiercely imaginative and deeply gifted, Charlotte Solomon dreams of becoming an artist. Her first love applauds her talent, which encourages her determination. But the world around her is changing rapidly and dangerously, limiting her options and derailing her dream. When anti-Semitic policies inspire violent crowds, she leaves Berlin for the safety of southern France. There she starts painting again and she finds a new love. But her work is interrupted, this time by a family tragedy that reveals an even darker secret. Believing that only her extraordinary will save her, she embarks on the monumental adventure of painting her life story of hers.

Directed by Éric Warin (Leap!) And Tahir Rana, the cast of the English-language dub led by Knightley also includes Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent, Academy Award nominee Brenda Blethyn, Sam Claflin, Eddie Marsan, the late Helen McCrory, the Oscar nominee Sophie Okonedo and Mark Strong.

The French version of the film, starring Marion Cotillard, will make its US debut at a festival to be announced shortly.

Charlotte is produced by January Films, Balthazar Productions and Walking The Dog.
