The anime series for children Obake Zukan!
Based on the series of illustrated books "Obake Zukan" by Hiroshi Saitō and Etsuyoshi Miyamoto from 2013. The story tells of monsters, ghosts and other supernatural creautures and how they manage to scare children.
The official website for the anime adaptation of writer Hiroshi Saitō and Etsuyoshi Miyamoto's monster Obake Zukan picture book announced that Rie Kugimiya is joining the cast as Minyan in Obake Zukan! (with an exclamation point), for the new anime series of the franchise. Minyan appeared in the previous anime as Bonyan's younger sister, and is seen below placed on the head of protagonist Hiroshi.
Daiki Yamashita also returns as Hiroshi.
The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliated networks as part of the Oha-suta children's variety program (Good Morning Studio) on October 5.
Naomi Iwata is once again directing the television anime at Fanworks. Shigenori Tanabe returns to writing screenplays. EGG FIRM is producing the anime.
The Obake Zukan! the series illustrates various monsters and spirits and explains why they are scary. Saitō and Miyamoto started the illustrated book series in 2013 and the latest volume was released on March 31st.
The first television anime premiered on TV Tokyo's Oha-suta in July 2020.
