The Fantaeroi (Sidekick) - the animated series of 2010

Sidekick is a Canadian children's television cartoon series, authored by Todd Kauffman and Joey So. The series aired from September 3, 2010 to September 14, 2013 on YTV. The series is based on the original short films titled The Not-So-Superheroic Adventures of Sidekick which aired as part of the 2005 TV series, Funpak. It currently airs on Cartoon Network and Disney XD.

History

The series is about an orphan boy named Eric, with his best friend Trevor and his two friends, Vana and Kitty, who train at the Academy of Fantasy Heroes to become Fantaeroi helpers (in original "Sidekick"Or" shoulder / helper ", a term that in American comics designates the helpers of superheroes) in the Canadian city of Splittsboro (based in Scarborough, Toronto). While dealing with intense hero shoulder training, Eric also has to contend with his stern instructor Maxum Brain, his gruff teacher Professor Pamplemoose, the evil Master XOX. Eric will also have to face the mysterious disappearance of his superhero mentor Maxum Man and keep it a secret from the city

Characters

Eric Needles

Eric is a boy who has been adopted as the companion of Maxum Man, the greatest superhero of all time (before he disappeared). He also has a huge crush on Vana, but later appears to be more infatuated with Mandy Struction. He grew up in an orphanage because he has no known parents, albeit in the short film Funpack: The Evil Trevor, Eric says he once had a father who always spit in his face until he died. It was adopted by Maxum Brain. Eric always wears a shirt with a skull on it. He and Trevor always get in trouble and have no common sense. He and his friends are often forced to make up for the many messes they have caused. With Maxum Man gone, Eric must do all of his heroic duties to ensure the public is safe and make them believe he is still at work, but unfortunately he has no hero powers or experience to fight the evil threats Maxum Man faces. Fortunately, he has friends who help him and give him valid and valid advice on how to handle this type of situation.

Trevor Troublemeyer

Eric's best friend. Trevor always involves Eric in all sorts of hijackings. His father is Master XOX but he and the others are completely in the dark. Eric, knows that Maxum Man is missing and helps him keep his disappearance a secret from the public or risk mass panic if they ever find out. He went to Sidekick Academy to become his father's henchman.

Kitty Ko

Kitty is a girl who, despite being a bit odd, gives advice to the rest of the group, and is somewhat of a good hacker and fixer. She has a huge crush on Eric and has a bit of a stalker obsession with him. She literally had a left foot condition as revealed in "Trip Van Twinkle Toes" and like Eric, she is an orphan as revealed in "Parent Teacher Night of Doom". In the Funpak shorts, she was voiced by Stephanie Beard. Unlike Eric and Trevor, she doesn't know that Maxum Man is missing and is shocked and terrified at the very thought.

Vana Glama

Vana is a hyper-ambitious first woman who is not easily impressed and is extremely superficial. He often tortures Eric and hates him for no apparent reason (even if he's not aware of it). Despite this, Eric has a huge crush on her, often oblivious to her selfish, snobbish and more often than not sour-hearted character. In the Funpak shorts, she was also voiced by Stephanie Beard. Like Kitty, she too is unaware of Maxum Man's disappearance and is also shocked and terrified at the very thought.

Max Brain

Eric's guardian due to the disappearance of Maxum Man. He is a computer with many gadgets and acted as Maxum Man's assistant before his disappearance. He is strict in following the rules, keeping the mansion clean and speaking with an East Indian accent.

Maxum Man

Eric's favorite superhero, before Eric became his current helper, with powers similar to those of Superman. After his disappearance, Eric and Maxum Brain go out of their way to make it seem like he's never left. It seems that Maxum Man always makes enemies by accident.
Applicant

Mr. Martin Troublemeyer / Master XOX

Trevor's father. All he wants is what's best for Trevor and that he's a good guy, which is why Trevor can't stand him. Try to stay calm due to his short temper. The only time Trevor likes him is when he gets mad. However, when Trevor isn't watching, his father becomes the creepy and deformed supervillain known as Master XOX, the main antagonist of the series.

Professor Pamplemoose

The cruel headmaster of Sidekick Academy and Eric's grumpy teacher, Pampelmoose is a strict disciplinarian who runs the school as if it were a prison camp. He has dedicated his life to turning worthless students into worthless helpers. He often punishes Eric for obvious reasons, causing him to end up in detention.

Golly Gee Kid

Golly Gee Kid was Maxum Man's companion in the old days, often seen in Maxum Man's Sidekick Academy coming-of-age movies. While he was a helper, it seemed his main job was to do the chores around the mansion. Now he's the school janitor.

Mandy Construction

A teenage student at the school for henchmen (although she would later become an anti-hero in later episodes) and Eric's new crush. He has seismic boots that can cause the floor to tremble whenever he steps on. She is much taller than the other babies, which suggests she may be bigger than them. She also has a crush on Eric, which is why Kitty hated her. She appeared in the episodes "Match Dot Com", "Follower for a Day", "Mandy-O and Eric-Et", "Oh Trevor, where are you?" and “Walter Ego Presents: Vapo House”.

Allan Amazing

Allan is a charming student who is popular with female students. Although he acts kind and reasonable, he has an immense hatred for Eric and is a narcissist who will go out of his way to beat anyone, especially Eric.

Kid Ruthless

A big tough student who appears to be a bully, as he tortures Eric for stealing his Sidekick identity name. He was popular with students for his music. He was kind to Eric after Eric defeated him in a DJ Battle. He appeared in the episodes "Identity Crisis" and "Drop The Needles".

Mayor Swifty

The senior mayor of Splittsboro, all he wants is to see Maxum Man, which happened once in "Ain't No Party Like a Maxum Brain Party". He also has a hatred of a fired superhero, Static Clint, as shown in "The Spark is Gone". Swifty also appeared in the episode “The Maxum Switcheroo”.

Maxum Mom

Maxum Man's mother, who has an intense dislike for Master XOX. She is as tough as her son, and has visited and looked after Eric a couple of times at Maxum Mansion. She appeared in the episodes "Maxum Mom", "Shopping Spree" and "Family Fun Day". Eric posed like her in the episode “The Maxum Switcheroo” to expose the fake Maxum Man.

Maxum Mel

Maxum Man's older brother. He's as tough as his brother and has visited the Maxum Mansion once. He has a companion named Mouse Boy.
Joshua Sideburns (Fab Philip) - A movie star that Kitty is obsessed with. Visit Splittsboro to star in upcoming movies. He appeared in the episodes "Comic Book Zombies", "Teenage Mummies in Love" and "Maxum Method".

Possum Man

Another superhero in Splittsboro who is a Batman parody and always wants to make crime and dead criminals look like real possums do. He also has a partner named Boy Vermin. Appears in "Opposum Man".

Glenn / Boy Vermin

Eric's old friend from the orphanage and companion of Opossum Man dressed as a rodent who is a parody of Robin and always assists Opossum Man. His real name is Glenn. Appears in "Opposum Man".
