The fifth season of My Hero Academia and the villain Ending

The finale debuts in episode 18 on Saturday


The official Twitter account of the anime My Hero Academia Thursday announced that Kishō Taniyama is playing the villain Ending in the show's current fifth season. Ending will debut in the 18th episode of the season on Saturday at 17pm.

The character of Ending

Seven years before the story began, Ending saw Endeavor catch a thief named Takami. Since then Ending has been infatuated with Endeavor, wishing the latter would kill him. Later, Endeavor captured him and sent him to prison.

Ending is a mentally ill individual with a considerable infatuation with Endeavor, obsessed with the arrogant and ruthless image of the Pro Hero and constantly pushes the latter to kill him; going so far as to kidnap Natsuo Todoroki, just so Endeavor can notice him. He is completely suicidal while ignoring other people's lives if it serves to provoke Endeavor into killing him. Ending even considers himself a Nomu, a lifeless puppet, indicating how depressed he was before meeting Endeavor.

The season premiered in Japan on March 27. Funimation e Crunchyroll they are both airing the anime with English subtitles. Funimation is broadcasting the season dubbed in English. The fifth season has so far covered the "Joint Training" arc of the original manga pitting class 1A against class 1B. The season started airing on  Adult Swim di toonami programming block on May 8th.

The first season of 13 episodes of the anime premiered in April 2016. The second season of 25 episodes premiered in April 2017 and the third season premiered in April 2018 and was broadcast for 25 episodes. The fourth season premiered in Japan in October 2019 and ran for 25 episodes. A two-episode original anime video for the franchise broadcast in Japan last August and Funimation e Crunchyroll streaming episodes

The film  My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released in Japan in July 2018. The second film, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (Boku no Hero Academia the movie -Heroes: Rising-), was released in Japan in December 2019. A third anime film titled My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission will debut on August 6.
