THE GARDEN OF WORDS

Among the goodies of the anime programming at the cinema this year, Nexo Digital and Dynit wanted to propose to the Italian public The Garden of Words by Makoto Shinkai, considered a true master for his mastery of the visual arts and for the incredible narrative ability that distinguishes his work which includes titles such as 5 cm per second, Journey to Agartha and The Voice of the Stars. The movie coming out just for the day Wednesday 21st May 2014, with its hyper-realistic panoramas and melancholy atmospheres that have moved and bewitched millions of fans around the world, has been successfully screened in the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India (where it participated in the International Film Festival of India).

The Garden of Words (also known to fans by its Japanese title Kotonoha no Niwa) tells the story of Takao, a young student who dreams of becoming a shoe designer. One day Takao decides to skip school to draw in a delightful and secluded public garden. He does not imagine that this decision will completely change his life thanks to the meeting with the mysterious Yukino. Older than him but certainly not wiser, Yukino seems adrift in a world in which he no longer recognizes himself. Despite the difference in age, the relationship between the two develops slowly thanks to the continuous meetings in that same garden every rainy day. But the rainy season is coming to an end and so many things have remained pending ... Will Takao still have time to express his true feelings to the woman he loves?

The film will be accompanied by some special contents and the short Someone's Gaze (in Japanese Dareka no Manazashi) which tells the delicate and exciting relationship between a young woman and her father. Thus the appointment of May 21 will give the Italian public the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the poetics of Makoto Shinkai who will close the first part of the 2014 season of anime at the cinema. Given the success of the anime on the big screen, distributed by Nexo Digital in collaboration with Dynit and media partners Lucca Comics & Games, Radio DEEJAY and MYmovies.it, the programming will continue with new titles chosen specifically to respond to fan requests.
